The
following page provides a guide to installing TextQuick 1.5. This guide
initially covers upgrading from TextQuick 1.4, and then continues with
a
general guide for installing
TextQuick 1.5.
Upgrading from TextQuick 1.4
If you're upgrading from TextQuick 1.4 you should un-install TextQuick
first. To do this, simply navigate to the TextQuick Icon on the menu.
You will usually find it in a folder called "Applications" or
"Installations" depending on your model. Select the TextQuck
icon, then press the "c" key on the device. You will be presented with
a
screen like the following.

Select
"Yes". If TextQuick is running the phone will ask you to confirm that
you want to close the application now.

Again,
select "Yes" here too. Then the phone will display a progress bar while
it deletes TextQuick. Once complete you are now ready to install
TextQuick 1.5 !
TextQuick
is a self signed application. This means that when you install the
application your phone will ask you if you really want it. Some
phones are locked to prevent the installation of new applications.
If when you install TextQuick you see a message like "Certificate Error. Please contact the
supplier." then you need to change the default option to allow
TextQuick to be installed. It's really
easy
to do and takes no more than 20 seconds. I've provided a set by
step
guide here.
Once
the SISX file has been downloaded
to your device you should open it. You will be presented with the
following screen.

Select
"Yes"
to install TextQuick

The
security warning appears to inform you that the application is not
signed, this is fine. Select "Continue" to install TextQuick.

The details of TextQuick are displayed so you can review them, select
"Continue" to install TextQuick.

Now you are prompted to select the location you would like to use for
TextQuick. In the screen shot above my memory card is shown, I've
labelled it "ChrisWoods". You can choose any location, I've installed
TextQuick on my Phone Memory. That way TextQuick will always be
available no matter which memory card I'm using.

The Application Access screen shows you what TextQuick will need to
run. It uses "Read User Data" to read the messages in your inbox and
your contacts from your address book, otherwise it wouldn't be able to
rank your favourite people. "Write User Data" is required so TextQuick
can record your favourite people, this makes TextQuick faster as
without
it TextQuick would take a long time to start. Finally TextQuick needs
"Use Network or make phone calls" to allow it to launch the text
message window. TextQuick additionaly needs this option to enable you
to call people from TextQuick's main screen.

Finally TextQuick displays a quick message to thank you for downloading
it and giving some some instruction on how to register it.
That's
it! TextQuick is installed. Check here
for help on starting and using
TextQuick.
TIP!
Set TextQuick
to your right soft key on your standby screen, that way it will be even
faster to send messages to your favourite people!
